My Old Eyegless: Photos
I went through some old photo albums and found some pictures of me with various eyeglasses on. (This is way before my lasik surgery!)

I got my first pair of glasses in 5th grade. I remember the sense of awe when I first put them on and could see everything so clearly.

Here I am in Junior High School (~1975). Check out the tacky wallpaper to go along with the tacky eyeglasses.

Here I am in Christmas 1994. I mostly wore contact lenses from high school until I was about 30. Then I couldn’t tolerate them any longer.
Most Recent Pairs of Glasses
I saved several pairs of eyeglasses over the years (don’t ask me why). Isn’t it funny how they got smaller and smaller! I wonder if big styles will come back? BTW, I donated all these eyeglasses!

Just want everyone to know - it takes a long time for your eyes to stabilize after Lasik surgery so you have to be patient, or you’ll make a mistake and get an enhancement too soon and still not be happy. I had my original surgery last August 2007 and have gone back to the doctor for an eye exam every two months since then and each time my eyes were different. I don’t have 20/20 still vision and have decided not to get an enhancement, and wear glasses for real close up and to drive, but can see the computer clearly. I don’t wear the glasses MOST of the time, so the Lasik was worth it, although I don’t have perfect vision, but never did before and never will again. It’s just better than before and I now accept that. If you need glasses, get your prescription from your Lasik doctor and go to Zennioptical.com and get glasses online that don’t cost a fortune. I guarantee the glasses you get from Zennioptical are great - start with the $8. ones so you see for yourself. Then just wear glasses when you need to and wait for your eyes to heal completely and stabilize. No one told me you had to be this patient with Lasik surgery, but you sure do! I thought I’d have perfect vision but I don’t. It’s just better vision than I had before.

Hi Claudia, I’m in the same boat as you it seems. I too was never told you had to be patient with Lasik surgery, everyone I had spoke to had great success, so I thought I would too. My right eye is quite blurry, thank goodness the left is good or I would be in big trouble. (hope I didn’t just jinx it). I had mine done only a month ago, so I’m at the point of just waiting it out and see if it improves or stops changing. Then I would consider the enhancement. Thanks for the advice of making sure to wait until they have stabilized, I definately won’t rush it.
